The Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream is one of our favourite versatile daily moisturisers. It has a light to medium creamy texture that virtually disappears after putting it on. The result is a good level of hydration without a tacky feeling.
What We Love
I love that it does what it’s supposed to do really well with no frills and without anything that would bother me like tackiness, fragrance or odour. It’s not too heavy and not too light while being hydrating enough to use at the start or end of the day which makes it very versatile. I often find myself using it over other more expensive moisturisers because of how straightforward and reliable it is.
Value for Money
The size and price are good for what you get, I find 100 mL lasts me a long time and at $43 you are getting a lot of value for money (especially if you can pick it up for less while on sale). Oftentimes we end up paying more for a brand just because it is popular, but here I feel like you get more than you pay for considering how well it hydrates, how versatile it is and how long the jar lasts before needing replacement.
Packaging and Texture
The texture is light to medium. It rubs in easily with minimal tackiness. See a picture and video below of the texture. It comes in a gorgeous blue jar with a nice textured paper label.
When not to buy
If you have very dry skin I would recommend a heavier moisturiser or you may need to add an additional step to your routine.
I would also say that it does what it claims to and no more. If you want something extra then this may not be for you.
How to Use
Warm the cream between your hands and then gently apply it to your face and neck. I like to dab small amounts to different areas of my face before rubbing it in so that I get a more even application. Use it in your routine:
- In the morning, after cleansing (and toning or applying serum) to hydrate and protect your skin throughout the day. It also prepares your skin for sunscreen and makeup application.
- At night, after cleansing and applying any treatments or serums, to help your skin repair and rejuvenate while you sleep.
Pairings
One of my favourite pairings with this moisturiser is the Skin1004 Centella Probio-Cica Intensive Ampoule (that’s a bit of a mouthful to say out loud). When paired together, the result is an incredible amount of hydration without a shine or sheen that lasts all day (for me at least).
A great sunscreen to apply after this is the Beauty of Joseon Relief Sun SPF50+ Sunscreen which is a classic light sunscreen with minimal tackiness and no white cast.

The Pyunkang Yul Moisture Cream feels great to use and hydrates well without being flashy which makes it perfect for people who are looking for a versatile and effective daily moisturiser that they can rely on.
